Painting added to the Loudoun County Art Collection

County-presentation72.jpg

Pictured here, Sally Keefer (L) accepts the painting, "Loyalty Barn," from Trisha Adams on behalf of the Loudoun County Art Advisory Committee. Sally said the painting is particularly fitting since it portrays a county scene and reflects the county's agricultural heritage.

The county is expanding its art collection and plans an exhibition of new acquisitions in the Fall.

This is Adams' third painting to find a home in a governmental collection. The first is owned by the town of Leesburg and the second is owned by the Virginia State Capitol.

Sketchbook Project

I am participating in the "Sketchbook Project" organized by the Art House in Atlanta. Here's how they describe it:

Like a concert tour, but with sketchbooks.

We send you the sketchbook, you make the art. Then Art House is taking all the sketchbooks on a 6 city tour to galleries and museums across the U.S. The goal of the exhibition is to encourage anyone to create artwork and build a collective of sketchbooks made by artists from all over the world.

The theme is "Everyone We Know" so I drew high-contrast, black 'n' whites of friends with a Sharpie. Here a few of my favorite pages...
